REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a Grade 10 Certificate (NQF 3).
They should have at least five years of experience driving and operating special equipment.Job–related knowledge includes understanding how to use equipment, inspecting vehicles, following instructions for operating controls, and safely using machinery.They must also know how to plant and harvest crops, understand operating manuals, maintenance manuals, and service charts.Job–related skills include operating a tractor, working with special machinery like TLB, bulldozers, etc., using different tools, maintaining roads, having good communication, being able to read and write, having good eyesight, working well in a team, and holding a valid driver’s license (Code EC) and an operating certificate.
DUTIES: Operate a tractor with various tools to help with farming tasks.
Do regular maintenance and prepare vineyards, orchards, nurseries, and experimental areas at PQS.Help with equipment maintenance and administrative work.Keep tools and equipment clean, safe, and well–maintained.Operate special machinery like boilers, pressurizers, autoclaves, tractors, brush cutters, mowers, spray pumps, and front–end loaders.Do basic repairs and maintenance on tractors and tools.Provide support with pest control in quarantine areas.Apply pesticides according to PQS guidelines.Help mix pesticides and perform manual spraying in facilities.
