Salary: R138,486 per annum

Requirements:
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills (minimum educational qualification)
- Relevant porter experience in a public health facility
- Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays
- Ability to lift patients from/onto beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs
- Flexibility to cover shifts in the absence of colleagues and work across all hospital departments/wards
- Basic knowledge of Infection Prevention Control procedures
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work under pressure
Duties:
- Transport patients safely within the hospital, including accompanying walking patients and transporting sitting/non-walking patients via trolley or wheelchair
- Deliver specimens to laboratories
- Assist with loading and unloading patients from ambulances/vehicles
- Carry medical and administrative documents between wards and treatment areas
- Maintain cleanliness of trolleys, wheelchairs, and work areas; report defects promptly
- Provide support services to clinical staff, supervisors, and colleagues
