SALARY: R237 453 to R279 708 per year (Level 05).

QUALIFICATIONS: You must have a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification that is recognized by SAQA.
No work experience is needed. Having a valid driver’s license is a plus. All shortlisted people will take part in a practical test before being considered to check if they meet the job’s requirements in terms of both technical and general skills.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: You need to know how to work in an office environment.
You should be familiar with Public Service Regulations 2016 and the Public Service Act 1994. You should understand the importance of keeping information confidential in government work. You should know about clerical tasks, including data entry, using computers, and collecting information. You should be able to use the Microsoft Office package, especially word processing, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. You should know about office administration and the laws that govern the public service. You should understand Batho Pele principles. You should have good communication skills, both verbal and written. You should be able to solve problems. You should have good public relations skills. You should be able to monitor and analyze things. You should be computer literate, especially with Microsoft Teams. You should have planning and organizing skills. You should be able to write reports and type documents.
DUTIES: Provide general clerical help.
Record, organize, store, and retrieve letters and data. Update registers and keep track of statistics. Receive, check the type of request or document, and send out all incoming and outgoing papers, and follow up on any outstanding items. Support the supply chain in your area. Handle the sub–inventory for the manager’s office. Work with both inside and outside people to get goods and services. Buy standard office supplies like paper, drinks, etc., by getting quotes and filling out purchase forms. Help with personnel administration in your area. Keep a leave record for your area. Maintain personnel records and an attendance record. Make travel arrangements and check that the paperwork matches the plans, such as accommodation, flights, passports, and visas. Provide administrative support. Arrange for meetings. Support meetings by preparing minutes and memos.
