REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must hold a Grade 10 or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
They should have completed a Basic Security Officer course registered with PSIRA. A minimum of one year of experience in the security industry is required. A valid driver’s license is an added advantage. All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a preentry practical exercise as part of the selection process to assess their suitability based on the job‘s technical and general requirements.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal and public relations abilities.

DUTIES: Ensure outsourced security officers provide efficient and effective service to the court daily.
Maintain the functionality of all security and biometrics systems within the building. Meet with outsourced security officials each morning to review the performance of security and biometric systems. Report any incidents around the court premises to the appropriate authorities immediately. Treat all clients, court users, and colleagues with equal respect and professionalism. Collect biometric data for new personnel and remove it for those leaving the department. Attend meetings with SAPS, EMS, Fire Brigade, and TMPD during highprofile cases. Meet with outsourced security officials monthly to review the security performance at the court on a daily basis. Ensure no alcohol or video cameras are allowed in the building without permission. Assist and monitor outsourced security officials during busy times and highprofile cases. Review and save camera footage of incidents. Monitor all access points for proper access control. Watch all activities within the department using CCTV. Conduct building inspections and patrols to identify, assess, and verify conditions. Apply emergency procedures in situations like bomb threats or riots, and alert emergency services and department management. Monitor and respond to alarm systems. Update records in the occurrence book or register as needed. Confirm information with the supervisor to ensure accuracy. Manage crowds by informing security officials about overcrowded floors. Prevent unauthorized removal of court property from the building. Help control the number of visitors entering the court in groups. Accompany and request bomb sweeps before VIPs enter the premises and before court sessions start. Conduct regular building inspections and patrols. Ensure all individuals entering the building go through access control procedures.
